This two-day interactive workshop explores the presenter’s BEST (Body, Emotional, Sensory and Thinking) evidence-based approach to co-create therapy plans with autistic and other neurodivergent individuals that promote occupational participation.

This experiential and interactive workshop will explore interoception as the sixth sense and its relevance to self-regulation and daily life participation. A variety of evidence-based tools and interventions relevant to the pediatric population will be discussed and experienced. This one-day interactive workshop will focus on building a strong foundation for how to assist with healing work-related burnout and how to foster work/life balance using occupational therapy intervention and skills. Participants will learn about the nervous system, the occupational and functional life impacts of burnout, and the aftermath of providing care during the COVID-19 pandemic on health care professionals.

This webinar will discuss the changes that occur with aging can impact occupational possibilities by imposing additional demands on the person’s occupational participation, ultimately challenging their ability to age in place. Lifestyle, social connections, safety factors, and accessibility factors may hinder or facilitate access to and opportunities for occupation in the kitchen. In addition, this webinar will explore how the kitchen design can contribute to limiting independence. Considering ergonomics, task zones, and gerontological design, occupational therapists can address these factors through kitchen modification to improve the safety and efficacy of occupational possibilities in the kitchen.
