Many occupational therapists continuously identify an interest in fostering their skills or moving into new roles relating to leadership, however, there are few opportunities to enhance their abilities (Recigno et al., 2024). This series of two 1-hour webinars will build upon one another and provide practical and applicable leadership skills development, awareness, and growth. Participants will be provided with an opportunity to explore, define, and build their personal leadership style. Each webinar will be designed based on adult learning best practices. The focus of part 1 will be Leading Yourself. Please remember to also register in part 2. Register today.

This webinar will provide an overview of equity-related considerations for selecting, collecting, and using patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) in occupational therapy practice. Both client-level (e.g., language) and facility-level (e.g., implementation costs) barriers to equitable implementation will be discussed. The focus will be on general principles that apply to a wide range of client populations and practice settings. Additionally, to accelerate practice-related impact, the session will emphasize considerations for applying existing measures versus considerations for developing new measures.

This webinar will enhance the appreciation of occupational therapists that every health professional and family member or friend of a client shares some responsibility for prescription drug therapy, even if they do not originate or control it. The adverse effects of dopamine antagonists and anticholinergic drugs will be described. This webinar will discuss techniques for simple assessments that assist in identifying whether the client is experiencing an adverse effect. Ways to communicate concerns effectively, and to assume professional and ethical responsibility to protect a client, will be shared.
