Le fonctionnement cognitif, allant des déficits aux capacités cognitives préservées, sera d'abord présenté pour expliquer comment il sous-tend l'approche et l'efficacité des stratégies cognitives. Les quatre stratégies cognitives seront présentées à travers des exemples cliniques pertinents à une variété de milieux de pratique et de niveaux d'atteintes cognitives. Les facteurs à prendre en compte (facilitateurs et obstacles) influençant la mise en place des stratégies cognitives seront abordées. Le webinaire sera appuyé par des données probantes démontrant l'efficacité des stratégies cognitives.

This webinar will discuss a study that demonstrates that excessive focus upon fatigue management in people with mild to moderate symptomatology from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) /motor neurone disease (MND) can potentially decondition and hence limit participation in occupations. The concept of positive tiredness will be explored and compared and contrasted to fatigue management, as well as the concept of positive tiredness across a wide range of ages, conditions and settings. This webinar will also explore intervention strategies that embrace positive tiredness.

The webinar provides a comprehensive overview of various key topics related to leadership in the context of occupational therapy, including an introduction and orientation to leadership in health care. Different leadership styles and their application will be explored as participants begin to identify their own leadership style and develop awareness of practical skills and behaviours based on the LEADS in a Caring Environment (Canadian College of Health Leaders, 2021) health leadership capabilities framework. Tips will be provided on how to integrate leadership skills into daily practice and participants will be encouraged to continue their leadership journey beyond the webinar.
