This webinar will discuss a study that demonstrates that excessive focus upon fatigue management in people with mild to moderate symptomatology from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) /motor neurone disease (MND) can potentially decondition and hence limit participation in occupations. The concept of positive tiredness will be explored and compared and contrasted to fatigue management, as well as the concept of positive tiredness across a wide range of ages, conditions and settings. This webinar will also explore intervention strategies that embrace positive tiredness.

The webinar provides a comprehensive overview of various key topics related to leadership in the context of occupational therapy, including an introduction and orientation to leadership in health care. Different leadership styles and their application will be explored as participants begin to identify their own leadership style and develop awareness of practical skills and behaviours based on the LEADS in a Caring Environment (Canadian College of Health Leaders, 2021) health leadership capabilities framework. Tips will be provided on how to integrate leadership skills into daily practice and participants will be encouraged to continue their leadership journey beyond the webinar.
