Executive function skills, including initiation, planning, organization, sequencing, maintaining, flexibility, and self-regulation, play a vital role in child development and everyday occupations (Josman & Meyer, 2018). Occupational therapists have an integral role in supporting executive function skills in children. This webinar examines occupational therapy's role in developing and supporting children's executive function skills. Various strategies will be reviewed, including treatment strategies for multiple environments (home/school/community), documentation strategies, and treatment strategies for each area of executive function.
After taking part in this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Describe executive function in children.
- Identify a variety of strategies to support children with executive function difficulties.
