Grief and loss: An occupational therapy perspective on function and well-being (April 28, 2026)

Presented by: Suzanne McArthur

Everyone is affected by different forms of loss and will subsequently experience the profound feelings of grief.  As occupational therapy professionals, we need to understand how grief can present itself, how it may impact occupational participation, and how to offer support to maximize well-being.

This webinar will explore how the journey of grief may present itself, the different aspects of an individual’s life that can impact a grief reaction, and symptoms that people may experience. The webinar will go onto to explore how best to offer support to an adult or older adult who is grieving.

After taking part in this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Have an increased awareness about what an individual may emotionally, physically, and psychologically experience as they navigate the journey of grief.
  2. Gain knowledge on the impact of grief on function and occupational participation.
