The autonomic nervous system has an important role in stress regulation, burnout, and compassion fatigue (Dalhman et al., 2021). Occupational therapy professionals have stressful jobs and can use practical tools for regulating themselves to avoid burnout and compassion fatigue.

This webinar will explore the nervous system and ways to identify being dysregulated or regulated. Practical tools to avoid burnout compassion fatigue through nervous system regulation will be discussed.

After taking part in this webinar, participants will be able to: 

  1. Understand the nervous system.
  2. Identify 3-5 physical/mental cues of dysregulation.
  3. Describe at least four tools for regulating the nervous system to avoid burnout and compassion fatigue.
